Responding to an increase in development on the Village's north side, the Village of Seville engaged E. G. & G., Inc. to develop a master plan for the development of a 27-acre area to provide more opportunities for its residents to enjoy outdoor recreation. The master plan outlined a development concept for changing a rolling corn field into a place for passive recreation and the opportunity for the quiet enjoyment of nature. The plan creates plant and wildlife habitats for the understanding and appreciation by users of how plant communities work together in nature.
Facilitated by a system of interpretive trails looping through and around vegetation types and plant associations, the park user can gain a rich experience through wildlife observation, plant identification, and conservation education. Linkages are also planned to allow easy pedestrian access to the park from the surrounding community and from the nearby county-wide trail system.
