In any city, large or small, the vitality of its downtown district is important to the economic well-being of the entire community. The City of Bowling Green, Ohio organized its Heritage 2000 Committee to prepare the community for the next century through creation of economic development opportunities, including job creation and retention, in the central business district. This committee engaged E. G. & G., Inc. to direct a revitalization project for the purpose of improving the central business district's infrastructure and recreating prime real estate location image. In close cooperation with community leaders and downtown business/property owners, E. G. & G. solicited public input, prepared design and financing plans, directed implementation and funding strategies, provided construction documents and administration services for the revitalization project.
