The Village of Seville, located at the northern gateway to "Amish Country," was in a position to benefit from continued growth in Ohio's tourism industry. Community leaders and business/property owners were concerned, however, that the deteriorated condition and worn out appearance of Seville's historic downtown district presented a negative image of the community and adversely affected its economic development potential.
In response to these concerns, the Village of Seville engaged E. G. & G., Inc. to direct a revitalization project for the purpose of improving downtown street corridor infrastructure and recreating a downtown environment conducive to economic development. In close cooperation with community leaders and downtown business/property owners, E. G. & G. conducted town meetings, prepared design and financing plans, directed implementation/funding strategies and provided construction document/administration services for street corridor capital improvements.

| | The four-block phase one project area improvements included new sidewalks with areas of decorative brick paving, historical-style street lights, underground utility cables, parking, landscaping and furnishings. The innovative financial plan prepared by E. G. & G. established a public/private partnership and enabled the commitment of grants and other outside funding for the project. The success of the project can be measured in enhanced quality of place and new economic development experienced in the Village.
